Gemma Hunt

Gemma’s TV career began in 2003, working exclusively for CBBC before becoming a freelancer in 2007.  In 2013, she joined the CBeebies family as a presenter on the BAFTA-winning pirate gameshow “Swashbuckle”.

Gemma’s two children’s books are modern retellings of Bible stories set in her own mixed-race family.  “See! Let’s Be A Good Friend” and “See! Let’s Be ME!” encourage families to emulate Christ-like behaviours in their loved ones, fostering good friendships and helping them manage big feelings and emotions.

Gemma also presents “Together”, a downloadable BBC Learning School Radio show suitable for school assemblies.  She’s also a regular live presenter at festivals across the UK, including the Big Church Festival.  Additionally, from April 2016, she co-presented the Alpha Film Series for alpha.org.

Beyond her presenting work, Gemma is an accomplished public speaker, frequently visits churches nationwide with her Pirate Praise Parties. She also runs confidence coaching sessions, workshops on presenting skills and enjoys working with children, leading storytelling sessions and organising birthday parties.  In 2017, she was incredibly honoured to be nominated in the “Presenter” category at the Children’s BAFTA’S.
